Beyond Hosting Review

Beyond Hosting is an excellent hosting service. Let’s get that out of the way right now. This review isn’t going to convince you that they have better servers or better uptime or whatever else you’re looking for. This review is about problems I’ve run into and how Beyond Hosting has fixed all of them 100% of the time.

I first heard about beyond hosting on an affiliate marketing forum. Previously I was using Hostmonster service because it was cheap and I had zero knowledge about hosting when I started creating websites for affiliate marketing in 2007.

I don’t know the background of Tyler and his staff but they know affiliate marketing and that’s where they started to get the word out. See, they offered people in the forums some amazing coupons for VPS and Dedicated servers. Along with these great deals they would load up the hot tracking software at the time and get it ready for you.

Tracking in affiliate marketing is a must so they found a targeted niche and went after it. I was apart of that targeted niche and obviously jumped on board because I had no clue about hosting, vps or dedicated servers only that they were expensive.

Right from the start of setting me up I had a lot of questions and Tyler and his staff were there to answer them usually on the same day. It’s been over 2 years now and with 20+ support tickets that include stupid things by me or malware attacks on my sites or anything else every single problem has been solved even my most recent one.

Big Problem

Recently I was getting ready for tax season and adding up all of my expenses for my accountant. I noticed my Hosting expenses on my credit card were much more than last year. Something went wrong. During early 2012 my credit card expired and Beyond Hosting was sending me emails that my bill wasn’t paid. Very odd since I’m on auto-pay. We got it figured out no problem just like every other support ticket.

When we got it fixed that little glitch entered me back in the system as a new user and took away my special pricing. Over nearly a year I was paying well over what I originally signed up for. I had overpaid nearly $1,000 in fees without me noticing. OUCH!

As usual I went back tot he support ticket system and after a few days of back and forth and investigating everything was in order and I got my reply. Beyond Hosting is going to credit my account and I’ll have free hosting for a while. They do the right thing with customers that have been there a long time. Thank you Beyond Hosting and the entire staff for having the best customer support in the industry.

If you’ve been looking for hosting or your current provider doesn’t have the best customer service then you really need to check out Beyond Hosting.

Shoemoney Book: Nothing’s Changed But My Change

When I heard Shoemoney wrote a book I had to get my hands on a copy right away. See, Shoemoney was one of the first people I found online that showed how successful you could be with online marketing. I first saw this “brand” name Shoemoney in the digital point forums around 2007. What sparked my interest even further was he lived 45min. away from me.

We’ve seen success stories on TV or online with losing weight, making money and other things that seem too good to be true. But when you see one of your friends have success or find out that person is very close to you it seems to spark something that says, “hey maybe this isn’t too good to be true”. This is how it works with losing weight and staying healthy. I should know, that’s where my life has turned recently in staying healthy.

Back to Shoemoney’s Book

shoemoney bookI, like Shoemoney, don’t read books and also agree with him about how annoying it is for people to complain about books being made into movies. It’s a movie, it’s entertainment people. You didn’t direct the film so that one character isn’t going to look exactly like you want him too, so shut up. (that’s my best impression of going off on a tangent like shomeony does in his book) (that’s my other attempt at using parenthesis in my writing like he does in the book)

Have you ever seen the movie Big Fish? It’s with Ewan McGregor and Albert Finney as his dying dad. In the movie Mr. Finney has been a story teller his whole life, except his stories seem to be like any other “big fish story” they keep getting bigger and bigger as the years pass. This is what I thought about while reading Shoe’s book.

I mean some of the stuff in there you just can’t make up. The girl you lived with asked you to do what? You went on your own witness protection trip for a while? Who irons packs of baseball cards?

Like in the movie “Big Fish” you come to realize that these stories seem crazy but they are so true it’s unbelievable. That’s why it took me less than 48 hours to get through the entire book. It is an extremely fast read because of the fun stories. I then proceeded to ask my wife if she was going to read it so I could talk to some one about it. (she hasn’t yet)

My career is a math teacher. When students ask me how many books I’ve read or what books I’ve read I give them a simple answer. I can count the number of books I’ve read cover to cover on one hand. It’s sad I know but Shomoney’s Book just made the list.

I missed out on ASW ’13 and also missed the chance to get my book signed. I will for sure try to stop by his offices at some point to get my book signed by the man himself.

Lifestyle Change

Recently I’ve changed my lifestyle for the better. (after typing, this got a little long)

In 2007 I learned about Affiliate Marketing and absolutely loved it. I was passionate about this new hobby I found where I could make money on the internet. Over the years I tried a lot of different ways to make money online and it was a fun right. I don’t sit at the computer and work on campaigns over and over like I used to anymore. Now I’ve taken most of my free time and turned it into becoming healthy.

Fast forward to March 2010 my wife and I made the commitment to get through the P90X program no matter what. Previously I had done a few of the workouts but never stuck with it. This time we set a date to start and even planned out how were were going to eat better to get the best results. Finally going through the entire program fueled me and my wife to make working out and becoming healthy, not our hobby, but our new lifestyle.

Since then it’s been my wife that has really changed and running with this new lifestyle. I still like to have my burger here and there and some ice cream once in a while but there is no way I’ll ever be back to 195lbs. again.

While working out over and over and finding new programs to do I suggested to my wife that she become a beachbody coach and share her passion with others and who knows maybe make a few dollars while doing it. That’s what happened and that is what her full time job is now. She has quit her in-home daycare and become a full time beachbody coach.

Now she helps people pick programs to use to get into shape and coach them on nutrition and how that is such a huge part of becoming successful when getting fit and healthy. Since we were both changing our lifestyle I also became a coach but just not to the level of passion my wife has.

Affiliate marketing and being a beachbody coach are very similar but also very different. As an affiliate I’m not really worried about making connections to who I’m selling too. I just want to make sure my ad spend is below my affiliate commissions. With beachbody coaching the point is to make connections with people and help them through their lifestyle change.

I only posted on my blog 5 times in 2012, which is ridiculous but it was because I was changing my life. I am not ingrained in the affiliate marketing scene anymore. I am engulfed in the workout scene though, going through program after program and changing my body and helping others.

Here is a run down of how I’ve gone through change in the past 3 years. In March 2010, like I mentioned, I went through P90X fully for the first time. I then went through Insanity during the summer. I wasn’t hooked on all of this during the 2010-2011 school year so I was completing random workouts from P90X. Then the summer of 2011 I was sick and had surgery and it was a crappy summer.

August 2011 is when this change really began to take shape. That summer my wife had ordered Insanity: The Asylum and received a free week long packet of Shakeology: The healthiest meal of the day (It literally is). From there she was absolutely sold on Beachbody and becoming a coach. I recovered from surgery and the start of the 2011-12 school year I hit the track running.

I also started to drink Shakeology everyday and went through P90X, Insanity The Asylum, P90X2, Les Mills Pump and a hybrid of Asylum and P90X to get ready for a mud run (Warrior Dash) at the beginning of June 2012. By this time I was getting really fit. In July I did the hardest thing to change my body I had ever done. I went through beachbody’s The Ultimate Reset. This was a 3 week strict plan of specific eating and supplements that dropped me down to near 145 pounds. I had shed a total of 50 pounds since March 2010. Granted 145 is probably not a good weight for me and I jumped back up to 150 and looked healthy soon after.

To start the 2012-2013 school year off I started a brand new product called Body Beast. This is a new program designed for you to bulk up. I followed the plan to a “T” and gained 10 pounds of muscle while keeping myself near 8% body fat. Right after bulking up I got Asylum Volume 2 and now I’m in the middle of the newest program Les Mills Body Combat. I already have planned to bulk up again with Body Beast and go through The Ultimate Reset in May to get ready for the summer months.

Looking back now it’s been a long journey but that is what it takes if you want to change your lifestyle. I hover around 160 pounds right now and know what it takes to drop 5 if I need to or gain muscle if I want to. I now have the knowledge on how to make changes the right way.

If you’ve read or even skimmed through this update post of my personal journey and are interested in any of the health and fitness information I have talked about I welcome you to contact me so I can help you make the healthy lifestyle change that I did.
