You’ve all seen the 125 block banners. These banners range from $5/month – $500+/month depending on how much traffic a website receives. These are random prices that each blogger puts on their own site. Some are deserving of their price and some are not. I’ve decided to buy a few of these spots from four different blogs to brand myself and promote my PPC-Coach Contest.
Here are some statistics from these blogs where I bought the banners.
Blog #1 – 717 RSS Readers; 27,000 People in Sept. (compete.com); 19 posts in October
Blog #2 – 732 RSS Readers; 29,000 People in Sept. (compete.com); 17 posts in October
Blog #3 – 449 RSS Readers; 7,800 People in Sept. (compete.com); 3 posts in October
Blog #4 – 159 RSS Readers; 7,900 People in Sept. (compete.com); 13 posts in October
Besides placing banners on these blogs I will search for 1 or 2 more blogs to advertise on. Along with advertising I will try to do a few more things to increase traffic to my blog and more importantly to the contest.
-Try to reply on many major blogs throughout the first half of November
-Make 20 posts in the month of November
-Make more posts on make money forums with blog link in my sig
As you can see my main focus in November will be my blog and not my affiliate marketing. Creating relationships with readers will only help my online marketing in the long run. Plus “when” I succeed with this focus that will only boost my confidence in all other online ventures.

I am subscribing to keep up on this project. I would like to know how well you do with the 125×125 banners. Some places seem quite reasonable with their pricing. Also, would one $500/month banner on a big shot web site out perform one hundred $5/month banners? I think your experiment will be telling.
@BusinessX – I agree it will be interesting to see what happens. I like your suggestion about the $500 buy or the $5 buys.
