Blackberry Curve 8330

I made the big step into the smartphone world by purchasing a Blackberry Curve 8330. My carrier is Alltel and I have used Alltel for many years. I tried the iPhone for a week but AT&T has horrible service in my area. I think the Curve will do just fine for the next 2+ years.

My favorite part is the connectivity to your e-mail accounts. Even if you’re using a gmail account you can still delete on the handheld and your account, I love it. The clarity is great, the track ball is user friendly and I love my qwerty keyboard.

The browser is not even close to the wonderful iPhone browser but it will do for when I’m on the go and need to check up on things. The first app that I downloaded was Twitterberry. Now you all can follow me on Twitter to find out what I’m doing throughout the day.

I have only had my phone for a day so I have not played around a lot yet but I can’t wait to find more applications that I will use daily. Right now the only place I have to go for cool info is Crack Berry. If you know of another place please comment.

I hear ya man – I live up in NW Iowa and AT&T (and therefore, the iphone) is non-existent in our town (or nearly so). I have a Treo through Verizon right now that does the trick. Maybe Verizon will get an Android phone in the near future… Otherwise there are a few folks around here trying to get a T-mobile Android working with Alltel. Maybe that’ll work too!
