I just had a crazy Red Sox June the past 2 weeks. Since I’ve been making a few extra bucks with this affiliate marketing stuff I thought why not treat myself to something awesome. So for me personally that would be the Red Sox. I live in Nebraska and so seeing the Red Sox comes about once a year when they visit Kansas City. In 2005 I was in Boston for something else but purchased a ticket and was able to go to Fenway by myself, this time I took my wife.

I had been planning this before the MLB schedule came out. When it did come out I immediately looked in June because I knew it wouldn’t be insanely hot and humid unlike later in the summer. The Dodgers came to town for interleague play and that would be the first time Manny Ramirez stepped foot in Boston since he was traded, PERFECT.

I booked us a room at Hotel Buckminster. This was 2 blocks from Fenway and since Boston has an awesome subway system we didn’t need to rent a car. I made sure to ask for a room on the Fenway side of the hotel. We got in on Thursday the 17th and I bought Green Monster seats for that game versus the Diamondbacks. Before the game an employee of the park was meeting friends and showed them his 2007 world series championship ring. Check it out in the Photos tab.

That was the night of game 7 of the NBA finals. After the baseball game they blocked of certain streets down by us just in case the Celtics won and the city went crazy. What a bonus that would have been if they pulled off the win. We would have partied all night.

Friday we did some site seeing in Boston until the big game versus the Dodgers. The whole city was electric with the anticipation of Manny coming back to Boston. I was a huge Manny fan when he was on the team and so I decided to cheer for him instead of boo. That night I got us tickets right behind the Red Sox dugout. I will never forget sitting on top of the Green Monster but these were the best seats of the 2 nights. When Manny came up to bat the place erupted with 1/2 boo’s and 1/2 cheers. On the video that I took you can hear the announcer say his name as he walked to the plate. That is something I can’t show you much of, video. I took A LOT of video.

Matt Kemp (Dodgers ball player) is the new boyfriend of Rihanna (Singer). She stopped by the game and sat in a little corner by the sox dugout.

It was a great trip and we had a blast. When we got back home and had a second birthday party for my little 3 year old we decided to pack up again and head to Colorado to visit family and friends. Why did we leave 2 days after we just got back home from a vacation? Because the Red Sox were in Denver playing the Rockies. HA!

We couldn’t resist. We were going to visit family sometime this summer anyway so why not see the Sox for the 4th time this year. We saw them back in April when they visited Kansas City. So we made it to the Thursday night game in Denver. This was a great game because Dustin Pedroia hit 5 for 5 with 3 Home Runs.
