I don’t know if this is going to be part 1 of my “journey” to make a few bucks with PPC but I figure it’s a good story. My story begins with a blog contest (funny huh?). When I won the problogger contest I won quite a bit, enough to give away an Ipod Nano and confidence to try my hand at Affiliate Marketing with PPC.
If you don’t believe things fall in place or things happen for a reason that I am sad for you. Sometimes things just workout and you’re not sure why. During this time I stumbled upon a website called PPC-Coach. It’s real simple. Coach has a forum where PPC is the topic. Nothing is off limits, he has great advice and helps everyone as best as he can. I’ve seen other forums that cost triple what coach is asking. This is big bang for your buck.
Secondly I signed up for networks, obviously. There are plenty out there but trust me some are not as legit as you’d like them to be. Copeac is the network that I’ve been very successful with. One thing that makes a network great is the offers they have for you to promote. The number one thing that makes them great is my Affiliate Manager. He’s a pretty good guy. If your AM is unapproachable you may be stuck on your own.
Those are my recommendations for people starting out. You don’t want to start selling products that cost $50. You’ll probably end up spending too much advertising in order to gain one sale. I liked starting out with cheap products so that my testing period only took me to $5-$10. Ya, I know kind of a cheap guy but I wanted to do as much as I can and learn from quantity.

Absolutely true. Spending a lot in the beginning gets you no where. Better to start out with spending a little then to bigger amounts.

Hey man, congrats on free shirt Friday. Shoe gets TONS of shirts – every time I see him they are laying all over his office. It is HUGE that you got yours in. What did your traffic do as a result? You should totally cut a video talking about it. Milk it baby!

Oh yes, that’s like a smart spending plan. Experimenting with a small amount, earning and then investing some big budget. That’s a good way to go about it, with minimal risks.
