Dustin Pedroia is the second baseman for the Boston Red Sox. During the year this rookie was on fire. Here are some stats for the great rookie, .317 batting avg., 50 RBI and a 99% fielding percentage. Those are great numbers for a rookie second baseman at a major club like the Boston Red Sox. Even better is Dustin is small in stature, only 5’9″ tall and about 180lbs.
The one thing that he’ll be remembered for this year (for now) is the HUGE 2-run HR to put the Sox up 5-2 in the 7th game of the American League Championship. The next time up in the 8th inning he hits double that clears the bases for another 3 RBI. Mr. Pedroia blew open the game himself to win the ALCS for the Boston Red Sox. On a personal note, Dustin’s wife is a melanoma survivor and now works to get the word out about melanoma.
Dustin now has a shot at World Series excitement with his efforts. The Red Sox are the 2007 ALCS Champions and will face the Colorado Rockies. Good Luck Red Sox!!
