I am not a karaoke machine. But, when you get a group of friends together and bust out the karaoke you can tell (after a few drinks) who the karaoke machine is. I has a small gathering at my house last night and so I write this late in the day for obvious long sleeping reasons.
In order to have a successful karaoke party you first need some extras, not just a CD player and a fake mic. We had a pretty good set up last night. First off, I hooked two playstation 2′s to my big screen and had one of the Karaoke Revolution games in each unit. I had printed a song list of each game so all I needed to do was switch the TV/Video and *bam* a different disk.
After we blew those two CD’s up by singing almost every song on them, it was time to switch to the CD player. 5 Disc changer with a mic hooked up to it and the mic volume on LOUD. By this time there isn’t a sober person in the house so you don’t need the fancy PS2 anymore. The extra for the CD player is the ipod with the itrip add-on. The itrip is an FM transmitter that will play your ipod music through the radio. There were endless possibilities with this little gadget.
All in all everyone had loads of fun and lots of hoarse voices. I don’t really have a favorite karaoke song but “Joker” by Steve Miller Band is one that I’ll get up and do. What’s your favorite karaoke song? Some one should send us a short clip of them singing karaoke.
