Learning the Web language

Since beginning my journey of becoming a web geek I’ve learned quite a few things and more of these things have gone right over my head. Let’s take a look at some of the words or phrases I come across in my research.

RSS- any of various XML file formats suitable for disseminating real-time information via subscription on the Internet

You can “subscribe” to almost any website now when you see this little guy feed pic It’s actually a neat tool. Click on mine to the right. You now have my blog as a bookmark when you hit subscribe. Now you can see if there is anything new posted before you come to my site. I have a feeling when you get the hang of this, you’ll be looking for the little orange guy more often.

SEO

HTML; PHP; Azoogle; Froogle; Adsense; Adwords; Chitika; Spyderbots; The list goes on and on. Most of the words I’ve come across look made up or generated from the word google. Maybe the best way to make a name for myself in this web geek world is to come up with some “new” thing and call it, browie.
