Long Road Ahead

It’s been a while since I posted. I’m going to keep it short because that’s what I want so there. A while ago I posted A fresh start article about how I was going to look at the NOW and take it as a fresh start. Things in the online marketing business was tanking and I was pretty down about it. Now that I have taken a fresh start things are looking up again.

First Time for Everything
One of the big things that finally did it for me was doing something for the first time in affiliate marketing that I hadn’t done previously. That was to take a hit and like it. See most of you that are reading this that are in affiliate marketing know that you must spend money to make money. You must lose money on junk keywords or traffic to find what’s working and only go with that. I wasn’t much for this tactic previously and that’s probably why I had 1 winner here and there and they fizzled away. This time I took a campaign and took a hit and today after a full week I am now profitable. I was in the red for the first four days or so. Then I weed it all out and now it’s on auto.

Lucky
Then there is a campaign that I started where I just think I’m getting lucky. Pretty high payout (I mean over $50) and for some reason I get a lead a day or so by only spending $20-$30 a day. This is my lucky one where it’s great to see that I’ve been positive from day 1 through the whole week.

So I’ve got a long road ahead to get to where I want to be. I’d like to head to Affiliate Summit West in January but I don’t think I’ll be able to pull it off. I just wish they didn’t have these on Sun,Mon,Tues. That screws up people that have careers and do this on the side.

I got hit like that last March. It was the second time I found my Aff business with zero income. That forced me to find a new way and I started building more substantial sites that were independent of the offers so if one offer goes, another can take it’s place. Now i’m back in the black and building real assets.

    No kidding.

You have to change things up. Unless you really go after it and make yourself an authority site in your niche you’ll have to keep changing.
