Maybe you haven’t noticed. Maybe you are a frequent visitor. Either way this blog was down for 4 full days and I didn’t notice it.

I guess sometimes Saturday night I uploaded two new plugins. I can’t remember which one I kept active but it blew up my blog big time. I remember Sunday morning wanting to change something on here and trying to log in. The page kept loading and loading. I didn’t think much of it and had to leave anyway.

From there I was busy or gone the next 3 days until Wednesday evening. I check my analytics and notice ZERO visitors on the past 3 days. OUCH! I jumped on Hostmonster’s live chat support and the tech. started to help me. He got it figured out that it must have been a plugin on my blog. From that statement he sparked my memory about adding a plugin this weekend.

Oh man what a pain. Sorry if you visited here and wondered why nothing was happening. I have the last of 6 coaching forum series posts coming up so be on the look out for that.

ppv-playbook

I’ve already written about PPV Playbook in a previous blog post. The difference between that post (January ’10) and this post is a mountain of new information. Wow, a lot has changed in the past 6 months. David Ford first started PPVPlaybook.com in the middle of December and has since grown to one of the best affiliate marketing coaching forums around. I have to get right into it or this post will be LOOONG.

Overview
Originally the forum was about teaching people about CPV/PPV marketing. Then as the memberships came in there was more demand for ppc and social marketing. David added more sub-forums and now they cover all topics on marketing. There is now monthly coaching sessions or anything like that. It’s a straight forum with a lot of tips, tricks, case studies and user created studies. There are nearly 2,000 threads in the forums with 1,000 members. Granted I would have no clue as to how many of those members are still active but I can bet it is A LOT with an average of 80 posts a day since the beginning.

Help
Since the site gained a lot of popularity early it was beneficial for David to bring on some help. Three (i think only 3) members have moved up to become moderators/helpers/experts in the forums. The biggest help involved would be that from Corey of Affportal.com. We’ll get into that later. Besides giving some people titles there are all sorts of bloggers and veteran affiliate marketers in the forums that give out great advice when a question is asked.

Case Studies
This is really a spot where David gives back to his community. With over 50 videos of watching David explain a case study or how to attack a certain tactic he has really set the bar high for other coaching forums. These are not just “here is what I would do” videos. They are videos of his exact landing pages and exact data inside the ad network and his commissions to show how well or poor it has done. I have taken what he has said in some videos and ran with it for profits.

Tools
Most of these coaching forums are nothing unless they have real case studies and/or tools to help their users. This is where Corey from Affportal.com comes into play. Real early in the year David and Corey decided to link up ppvplaybook and affportal to make it a cross-membership site. When you join either of the sites you have access to the other. They had to up the price of each of their products but I would say it is worth it for the serious marketer. I won’t get into all of the tools that Affportal has to offer but I’m not far off when I say it’s the #1 resource for CPV marketing.

Summary
In summary you should see through this post how great of a place PPV Playbook is and if you were on the fence about joining you shouldn’t be now. As always in this 5th edition of my coaching forum series you can email me or just subscribe to my newsletter at the top right and read about discounts to these six websites. I have mentioned previously on this blog how much I like the PeerFly Network. Recently they have been making quite a few changes to their network.

The dashboard (or home page) of the network is laid out really nice. There is a big bar graph showing you the last 7 days revenues. That is real fun to look at the graphs going up, up and up. Along with the bar graphs there is a widget that shows you when each recent lead has come in (GameVance – Swat2 – $1.60 – 20min ago). Along with these neat features they are expanding their network and have over 500 offers to choose from.

PeerFly Cash Flow
Then PeerFly adjusted their payment options that cover almost every option you can think of. Net30, Net15 and Net7 are three options that the new affiliate can get to right away. Then you can get paid weekly (every Wednesday) from the previous weeks earnings. Then you can choose for them to send you a check or paypal or ACH or wire payments. If you are really in need of cash and don’t care about paying a fairly large 17% fee you can get your money within 8 hours (or faster) of when you ask. In fact check out this tweet:

When i ask @PeerFly for a early payment, I expect it to come in 8 hours, not 8 minutes.

Finally, the coolest little option that yours truly got to test was a PeerFly Firefox add-on.

PeerFly Add-on

While I surf the web or work on campaigns I can watch my revenue go up every 5 minutes. PeeFly was one of the 3 networks that I highlighted in “The Obvious PPV Playbook”. Make sure you check it out by subscribing to my newsletter at the top right. If you haven’t joined yet you need to. Here is my link to PeerFly Affiliate Network. Make sure you tell them browie sent you. Or just hit me up and I’ll talk to my AM.

EWA Network

One of the affiliate managers from EWA Network hit me up on AIM Wednesday morning and it went a little like this.

AM: I see you are running _____ niche
AM: You should really run traffic to this offer ######
brow1e: Hey thanks alot. I don’t know why I wasn’t running that before must have missed it.
AM: Ya, it’s converting like crazy
brow1e: Adding it to the rotation now

So instead of actually adding it to the rotation I just went and made a new PPV campaign. I decided to direct link it so I could see if it converted at all and maybe I’ll make a landing page later. After a few hours of hanging out at the house and hitting the golf course I was back in the evening to check my stats.

According to the Ad Network they were showing 800 impressions. EWA Network was showing about 280. WTF!!!!! Boy I was pretty hot. I jumped on AIM and Emailed the AM and gave him a piece of my mind. Actually I wasn’t as mean as you might think. He replied back swiftly (that’s EWA for you) with the answer.

AM EMAIL: “Browie, All of our offers are tracking correctly. We do not show clicks for countries that do not support the offer.” Here is a screen shot from today. Mexico – 95, Canada – 60, Brazil – 54, Argentina – 36. I even had people from Iceland view my offer, ugh.

So here is what happened. With a combination of not sifting through the 2,000 URL’s I grabbed from Affportal and forgetting to only target the United States I wasted over half of my impressions on international traffic. Lesson learned and I shut all of the international stuff down and my campaign is back on track.

Thank you, EWA Network
