Professional Blogger

What constitutes a professional blogger? I suppose the simple answer would be some one that blogs for their career. This person makes their living off of writing on a blog or for various blogs. I read quite a few blogs and I can say a professional blogger is kind of like being a professional in anything else. There just isn’t that many of them when you take a step back and look at the big picture.

The number one site that comes up for professional blogger is problogger.net. I have a feeling he’s doing pretty well for himself. Just look around his site, he has a subdomain called jobs.problogger.net. This guy has 27,000 people subscribed to his blog, last I checked I had 50 (ouch).

How about Shoemoney at shoemoney.com? I suppose he wouldn’t be considered a professional blogger since blogging isn’t where he made his cash. Still, his blog is very professional looking at draws people in to reading it.

Maybe you have signed up on all of these sites that pay you to write about something. An example of that is payperpost.com. People that want to get the word out on anything will ask payperpost to create a listing and then bloggers pick that listing up and blog about it. You get paid to write a review on their topic. The payout depends on how highly ranked your blog is and the deep pockets of the advertiser.

I know this girl that blogs for a few sites and has a video blog. Just take a look in my blogroll for Brigitte and TV Squad Daily. I am no where near a professional blogger but it’s fun anyway.
