I absolutely love Prosper202 and nearly every affiliate marketer that uses it loves it too. There are always negative stories about lost clicks and such but nothing is perfect.
So the Tracking202 team released the beta version 1.6 to the public. With a lot of new version releases some may not want to upload it until other morons (like myself) test it. I don’t mind testing it because I’m sure it’s very stable already. The big draw to this new version is the redirect speed to your offers. If you are a PPV marketer you definitely want good speed on your redirects so your landing page or direct link offer pops at super speed.
Before I uploaded the new Prosper202 1.6 version I headed over to WhichLoadsFaster.com. A sweet website for marketers to test different landing page versions or offers to see what pops. I picked a Best Buy email submit and tested my tracking link vs. the network link.
Test 1 – 3.3x faster
Test 2 – 2.7x faster
Test 3 – 3.1x faster
Test 4 – 3.3x faster
Test 5 – 2.7x faster
Those are actually pretty crazy numbers aren’t they? We are talking about 500 milliseconds (0.5 seconds) here. In pop up traffic that could make or break a campaign if all the pop up is a blank white space for 1.5 seconds. Let’s see what happened when I uploaded the new version.
Test 1 – 2.1x faster
Test 2 – 3.2x faster
Test 3 – 3.0x faster
Test 4 – 3.1x faster
Test 5 – 2.6x faster
Ooops, nothing happened. Anyone would be pretty upset at the claim that the new redirect speed is much faster. Except me. I did not use a VPS or dedicated server. You can see here Tracking202 has a little disclaimer because we can’t expect shared hosting plans to do much for us.
Redirect speed has been dramatically improved.(if you were concerned about using p202 with ppv or a media buy, give it another shot. If it’s slow it’s probably your web-host, we only recommend VPSes or Dedicated servers)
So, if you are on a VPS or dedicated server I’d like you to do the same test that I did. Post your results in comment section or at least write your own blog post and link back here. I’ll edit this post and add a link to your test post so we can see results.

Dang it Browie, I already upgraded so I can’t perform that test. I’ll just keep a close eye on those conversions;-)

That’s ok. Hopefully one person will see this and try the test.

Good,
I’m hoping SOME ONE out there has a VPS and can test the speeds for us.
