I think a lot of people try to search for a perfect method when trying affiliate marketing. If you’ve read blogs, forums, ebooks you know there is no perfect method. Sometimes when you read stuff they go into their steps a bit like this.

1. Take this type of offer
2. Think “outside the box”
3. Use quantcast.com to find special demographics
4. Use adplanner and other tools to find domains that match
5. Make a landing page with opt-in
6. Write an email every other day except the 5th day then send 2 on that day
7. Make Millions

Whoa! now that takes a bit of work and frankly it doesn’t sound like it works all of the time.  It doesn’t, but it worked for some one on a particular offer with a good landing page and well written emails to entice the person to convert.  It works but if you don’t have the time or are very new to PPV you may want to continue reading.

If you are new to something let’s go with the basic direct link to the offer using the “obvious method”.  As you see in my explanation these are just examples of what I’m talking about with the obvious method.

Offer – Blue Shoes

This affiliate offer is for Blue Shoes.  It could be a CPS or CPA offer but that’s really not the point.  What I’m going to do is search in google for Blue Shoes and see the results:

• #1 – blueshoes.com
• #2 – blueshoes.com/store-locator
• #3 – amazon.com/blue-shoes

You get the idea.  Typical results when you’re searching for something.  Blueshoes.com is the obvious choice and so I will bid on the obvious choice.  Do I make any money bidding on the obvious choices?  YES

Be careful with bidding this way.  Some advertisers may not allow it and some ppv networks may not allow it.  I suggest asking your contact on each end if you are allowed to do this.  You are going to find some offers don’t work and some do.  Just like anything in affiliate marketing you make 20 campaigns and keep 5 of them and continue from there.

There is one more little thing that I do with these campaigns and other PPV campaigns.  It was a nice little suggestion from a guy at PPV Playbook forums.  I am not going to say it until I can find that thread where he mentioned it.  It was such an obvious suggestion that you never think about doing it.  (I hate those)  Once I find it again I’m going to give him all of the credit and send out a broadcast to my newsletter.  So sign up for my newsletter at the top right for discounts and little tips.
