Tiger Woods announces his first US course plans. On Tuesday August 14th, just 2 days after his 13th Major Title at the PGA Championship, Tiger Woods had a press conference to talk about his newest course design venture.

“I guess we all know why we’re here,” Woods said, as he began his press conference. I think press conferences are almost redundant. When a press conference is called, most of the media already knows why they are being called and so Tiger just stating the obvious. My favorite was when Michael Jordan didn’t have a conference and just sent out a fax that said “I’m Back”.

The golf couse will sit about 4,000 ft. above the Ashville North Carolina area. The Cliffs owner Jim Anthony wanted this particular private course to be walking only. It seems after a few questions about that topic Woods clarified they’ll “strongly encourage” golfers to walk but won’t require it. I think it’s be hard to make golfers walk, especially if they’re playing 4,000 ft. above sea level.

Being a Tiger fan I’m pretty excited about this first course in the United States being designed by the Tiger Woods Design Co. I’ll probably never get to play the course but I’m sure it’ll be reviewed and picked apart enough that the writers will make me feel like I’ve been there.
